Cold War Kids @ The Piazza at Schmidt’s (7/13/2013) | © Erika Reinsel Neither the oppressive humidity nor the torrential rain were enough to put a damper on the third free Summer Block Party The Piazza at Schmidt’s Radio 104.5 Bad Books Capital Cities Cold War Kids
With summer in full effect, the crowds were treated to an hour-long rain delay before Cold War Kids’ set; however, once they finally took the stage, frontman Nathan Willett expressed his gratitude to the crowd for braving the not-so-pleasant weather. CWK just played Union Transfer this past April and they’ll be returning again this October (show details here ). They are currently touring non-stop in support of their most recent album Dear Miss Lonelyhearts . Below is a video for their latest single off of the album titled “Lost That Easy”. 90+ degree weather be-damned, Capital Cities showed full commitment with their matching black varsity jackets and signature dance moves (and beards). They just recently released their debut LP In a Tidal Wave of Mystery and are also touring non-stop. See all of their upcoming tour dates here .
Certainly you’ve heard of Bad Books (which features Kevin Devine and members of Manchester Orchestra ) and you whistle along to their breakout song “Forest Whitaker ” every time it plays on the radio.
