Telekinesis performed at Johnny Brenda’s in Philly on 5/7 (read show preview here). Fellow Seattleites Deep Sea Diver were the opener. Telekinesis is currently touring in support of their latest LP Dormarion (listen on Spotify). Below is their brand spankin’ new music video for “Empathetic People”, which was filmed in an abandoned record-pressing plant. See all of their upcoming tour dates here.
Telekinesis played a nice long set of supreme catchiness featuring tracks from across all of their albums – a necessity, since each of their 3 LPs barely surpass the 30 minute mark. Frontman Michael Lerner also kept the night very interactive, even asking the audience “what would you like to ask us?” and having to intervene to ask one “over-enthusiastic” audience member to actually stop dancing.
FYI, guest bassist Eric Elbogen (the brains behind Say Hi [To Your Mom]) just released an album Free Samples (Music From The Film), which was written for the independent motion picture of the same name. Listen to the track “Love, Love, Love” from the album here. If somebody had to replace Telekinesis’ former touring bassist, I’m glad that it’s at least Eric Elbogen :)
