Philly natives Jukebox the Ghost performed at Union Transfer on 3/15 (read show preview here). The openers for the show were Matt Pond and The Spring Standards. Jukebox the Ghost are currently finishing out their national headlining tour in follow-up of their 2012 LP Safe Travels. You can see the remainder of their tour dates here.
Jukebox the Ghost have come a very long way. The last time I saw them in Philly (in 2008), they were performing in front of a barely crowded audience at the much smaller North Star Bar – that tour was in support of their excellent debut LP Let Live and Let Ghosts. Five years and 2 albums later and they’re playing to a packed audience at Union Transfer. On their latest album, they continue their tradition of super poppy piano-rock (a la Ben Folds), but they tackle more emotional themes than on prior releases.
