The Wood Brothers will be performing a rare intimate show at Triumph Brewing Company in New Hope, PA next Tuesday, 2/26. At the moment, general admission tickets are still available and can be purchased here. FYI, their show scheduled at (the much larger) World Cafe Live in Philadelphia on 2/24 has already sold out in advance.

You may be familiar with one-half of The Wood Brothers (Chris Wood) as a member of the renowned jazz trio Medeski Martin & Wood. As a duo, The Wood Brothers take a vastly different folky-bluesy-roots-rock/”back-porch funk” approach. As is apparent from their multiple albums and live performances, they demonstrate remarkable musical chemistry – Oliver’s lead vocals smack of Van Morrison with brother Chris contributing harmonies in a way that only a true blood relative can, all the while slappin da bass with complete virtuosity.

Below is a recent recording of The Wood Brothers performing “Shoofly Pie” backstage at the Rio Theatre in Vancouver.  See their full list of tour dates here.
